- Animated gifs keep their colours. Frames are now dithered onto a
  max-coverage palette instead of being posterised, so skin and sky stop
  breaking into flat blotches

- DUPLICATES also lists the files nothing can read, grouped by how they
  failed: empty, truncated, or not an image at all
- Images are fingerprinted the way they are shown rather than the way they
  are stored, so a rotated photo now matches itself. This needs the
  fingerprints read once more, which is asked for rather than just done
- Images sharing a timestamp settle by path, so the order stops shifting
  between runs
- Deleting an image drops it from the duplicate fingerprint cache too

1.0-5 (2026-08-30)

- New DUPLICATES view, finding duplicate images by perceptual hash. It
  switches between exact and near matching, groups near matches so that no
  image in a group is further from any other than the tolerance allows, and
  the tolerance itself is set from a slider
- Read-only by default. Nothing on disk is changed without asking first,
  and the edit functions always save to a copy
- Animated gifs can be made from selected images, play in the viewer, and
  are offered their frames' own folder when saved
- Albums coalesce into an expandable tree, images can be assigned to one by
  multi-selecting in the timeline, and renaming a group re-prefixes its
  whole subtree
- The timeline and folder views can be filtered by album, and jumping to a
  date lands on the nearest one within that filter
- The viewer gained image details on tap, a Set Album button, file renaming
  and moving, and copying an image's location to the clipboard
- Broken images are explained instead of spinning forever, and images the
  thumbnailer refuses are shown anyway
- Side-swipe between the timeline, album and folder views, each with
  Refresh in its pull-down menu
- Exif scan results are cached between runs, and the image model is built
  from lookup maps rather than linear scans
